Default Are they putting in skill points for fame? Looks like

Log on GW, press H, and hover over your fame. Note the part where it says fame will give you skill points. Hopefully this is in next week's update .

If this has been posted, I apologize.

If this is true then its good.. Giving people more skill points really doesnt affect the game balance much, i dont even understand why the game even has skill points. To delay you getting skills slightly?

I think they were aiming for the exact opposite effect, actually. It's a lot easier (for me at least.. it'll be even easier if you can get skill points from getting fame) to use skill points to buy a few skills for a different profession than creating a brand new character and working them through the game to get the skills. I recently changed my secondary on my mo/w so I could buy some mesmer skills for pvp; I found that a ton easier than making a new char.

Newb question: Do you drop in fame rank when you lose matches? If yes, do you loose the skill points too that came with the fame rank?

Nope. You only gain fame. First rank is 25 fame, and it goes up from there.

What character gets the skillpoint? Seems pretty useless unless you could get it on your pve char, and with the way ranks work you wont ever get more then 8-10 skillpoints. Most of the top ranked people that I know are just barly rank 9.

Where do you go to gain fame? The screenshot says you "win the tournament". What tournament?

None of them. It stopped giving skillpoints when fame stopped being character-specific and started being account-based.

...yeah.
